WILDEFLOWER's new Isle of Palms Page - Isle of Palms

I visited Isle of Palms regularly when I lived in Charleston, SC. This was my place to swim till I found out you can drown here. There is rip tide(strong current) that sneaks in this area. Three of us got in the current and survived by passing a 5 gallon bucket back and forth as we each became tired. We started out looking for sand dollars in water a little over our heads. Next thing you know the current was forcing us out to sea. Come to find out. A whole family from Ohio had drown here a week before we were here. Do not swim here. There is a big sign. I never saw the darn thing the whole time I lived around here.
