"Visiting the Cape Breton Highlands" Cape Breton Highlands National Park by Redlats
Cape Breton Highlands National Park Travel Guide: 18 reviews and 30 photos
One of the highlights of our Nova Scotia vacation was the time we spent in Cape Breton Highlands National Park (CBHNP).
CBHNP has this wild feel to it. It's about an isolated road, the sea and the forest, the views and the hikes.
We tend to concentrate on the hikes in national parks. CBHNP has a lot -- approximately 28 marked trails in the park - identified by number on the signposts. We hiked the ones with interpretive boards -- 6 in total. It was too bad we only stayed in the park for two days.
We were at a disadvantage, the parks staff were on strike the day we went through the gate, so we did not obtain the park literature. Had we known what we know now, we probably would have stayed longer than two days in this area.
- In a nutshell:Cape Breton Highlands are a highlite of any NS visit

i have heard that this is one of the most beautiful national parks on USA/Canada eastern side. you gave lot of info to visitors. Good tips and pictures.
Great tips on the hiking trails! I will print them , since we are planning a trip to Maine/Nova Scotia, and possibly Newfoundland this summer. This park is on my definite list.
What a beautiful park !! This makes me even more hungry to go to Nova Scotia ! Would love to try and hike all of those trails - the nature there looks very pristine :-) Thanks :-))
