"Archaeology at Port au Choix" Port au Choix by Redlats
Port au Choix Travel Guide: 4 reviews and 5 photos
Port au Choix is on Newfoundland's Great Northern Peninsula. Archaeoligists have discovered that this area has been used by ancient natives for thousands of years.
It is amazing learning how archaeologists searched for the sites and found towns and burial grounds in the area from Maritime Archaic Indians, and Dorset and Groswater Paleoeskimos - from as far back as 5000 years ago.
If you are planning a trip to Newfoundland, see my province page for help in planning a Newfoundland vacation.
- In a nutshell:I was totally impressed by the ancient history documented @ Port au Choix

It is a pity about the rain, I forgot you were there in 'left-over' hurricane season! At least you tried to see the place! We were very fortunate with our NL weather in August, 2001.
Well, the weather might not have cooperated, but at least you got to see some of the beauty of the area!
