The second of our day-trips outside San Francisco was to the Sonoma Valley. Our first stop was in Somona itself, where we stopped at the Sonoma State Historic Park.
Then we drove up further into the valley and stopped at a couple of wineries. The wine tasting industry has boomed in the past few years, and now this valley has vineyards everywhere (31 of them have tasting rooms). I don't know if there is a comprehensive booklet on the various tasting rooms, but some charge $5 to $10 to taste, some do not charge; also they range from names you see in stores across the States to small wineries that only sell wine from the vineyard. |
