Tuscon is an interesting place. It's a hot desert -- to a Canadian, it is so weird that nobody has grass lawns. Yet the city is growing. Real estate values are increasing as people move in and join the 3/4 million people who live there.
Tucson is two hours south of Phoenix, and has many recommended places to visit. From desert vistas (360? sunny days a year) to native culture to modern electronics, the air force base and the University of Arizona. We spent the first four days of our Arizona vacation in Tucson and could have spent longer there.
We are from the north and this was our first foray into a desert, so we had a lot to learn. We enjoyed our visits to the Saquaro National Parks, the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and Tucson Mountain Park to learn about the Sonaron desert, its plants and animals.
We also visited the San Xavier Del Bac Mission and the Arizona State museum to learn more about the native cultures (and the Spanish/Mexican influences) from centuries ago
- In a nutshell:Tucson is underrated as a tourist destination

Glad you enjoyed Tuscon and you have done some nice tips! Thanks for sharing...Greetings from Arizona, Norman :)
This page brought back happy memories! I just love the desert!
A friend of mine went here to study. He brought back some nice desert pics, but I guess he has not seen half as much as you. Very nice page!
Learn something every day - did not know about the differences between national monuments and parks. Nice page on a great city - working my way thru the rest of your fotos. And BTW a VERY nice looking cat.
Guess what? I'm going.
Great look at Tucson, Lats. I am sure everyone knew you were out of towners because you swam in an unheated pool in March (natives think brrrrrr it is winter!) LOL Thank you for your efforts on all your tips, I truly enjoyed them Kat
Nice page! I never appreciated the beauty of the desert til I visited Arizona. No hot tub in March?? What are they thinking of?
Nice pics also here ! I don't know why I saw more blossoms, I was in Sonora Desert Museum in february - you in march. hm, good question !
Excellent hotel review. I've been to Tucson, but I don't think I've actually been until your pages...just marvelous information. Brilliant photos to match your outstanding commentary.
Fabulous Tucson pages, photos & tips! We will be visiting Phoenix next June, and are currently planning our Tucson leg of the adventure. Thanks for sharing!!
