The rivers Ashley and Cooper and the Ocean | One of the marvellous houses of Charleston |
Coming from Myrtle Beach (SC) Charleston was the perfect stop on the route to Savannah and Atlanta. We stayd there with a double goals : to enjoy the gorgeous antebellum houses and to open a history book at the page of the Civil War (Yes, a Frenchman can be interested in the Guerre de Cessession) since the War began here. Rett Butler was a blocus breaker captain, was not he ? |

barleybarb Sun Feb 24, 2008 21:15 UTC Guyon-- Thanks for your pages. I love them!! The baskets are called 'sweetgrass' baskets, and they are handmade. You can often find the women making them in the marketplace. Check the bottom...the artist usually signs them. |
