Between Chattanooga and Myrtle Beach

On the way between Chattanooga (Tn) and Myrtle Beach (SC), I seached a stop to see the Smoky Mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway. For a long time, I hesitated between Gatlinburg and Asheville.

I decided for Asheville, thinking it was a good basis to drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We visited Gatlinburg, the Smoky Mountains park and Cherokee during the day before.

We missed the North of the Blue Ridge Parkway in 2001 when we crossed through Western Virginia. We were not lucky and we saw few of the South part of the Scenic route during our 2006 trip. We underestimated the distances and the time needed to drive on the twisting routes. More the weather was rainy.

I have nothing to say about Asheville : we did not visit it and we stayed in the outskirts of the city near the Parkway entry.

    Around here we call this restaurant Louise's Rock House. I once had the best black bean soup there ever made.!
