Attracted by the breathtaking beauty of the fjords and by the unusual midnight sun, we made in July 2002 an organized tour on the following itinerary :
- Oslo
- Alta (by plane) & the North Cape
- Troms
- Vesteralen Islands
- Lofoten Islands
- The Polar Artic Circle
- Trondheim
- Lom & Fjaerlandfjord - Sognefjord
- Bergen.
We miss the marvellous fjords which are in the South of Bergen, mainly in the Stavenger area. But it was impossible to discover a country of 387.000 sqKm and 2700 Km length in 10 days.
Photograph shot during the journey between Melbu to Fiskebol.
Several other beautiful fjords are presented on the travelogue : "LANDSCAPES".
An info : the fjords are never frozen and it is also true for the coasts of the Artic Ocean because the Gulfstream heats up the water. Baltic Sea, which is at the same latitude, is frozen during the whole Winter.

Hello Ray. Thanks for the tips & lovely photos! I hope to visit Norway again someday. I especially liked the trolls and the "anti-bicycle-theft-dogs"... haha! Greetings from the desert :-) Jess
Interesting LAPP TEPPEE. I always say I'm of Indian heratage, a LAPPlander. I can prove it - I'll land on your lap. Actually you can read about my trip to Norway Nov. 2005.
An excellent page - a wealth of information.
Simply a fantastic page! I must to go there one day. ciao dona P.S.: sorry for my oversight, Happy belated birthday!

Useful tip thanks,I'm taking my car later this year...can't wait, looks beautiful!
One correction: The speed limit on the open road (countryside and motorways) are 80 km/h unless signs say differently. And, just in cased you wondered: The flowers you mentioned in must see activities are called Geitrams in norwegian.
