My foundest memory | Ship departing to discover America |
We visited Lisbon for the first time in May 2004 for a long week end of 5 days. Despite the latitude of the city, the weather was cold, windy and a bit rainy. Fortunately for the inhabitants, the weather became fine just the day of our departure. I had in mind few pictures about Lisbon : - Cabral living the habor to discover the Brasil in 1500 (nice man who chose a date easy to memorize in order to help the pupils of the future) - Vasco de Gama, a real traveller who made the first world tour but forgot to come back - the earthquake of 1755 known in France because Voltaire wrote some memorable pages about it in Candide. |

ElsaMarques Fri Aug 10, 2007 07:01 UTC I booked it through hotels.com for 2 nights july 07. The room was extremely small and dusty. My bath towel was spotted, my pillow dirty and found two hairs inside the sheets. Day staff was very unpleasant, never refunded money or apologized . | Maurizioago Fri May 14, 2004 20:56 UTC I love Lisbon too. | Luisanna Thu May 13, 2004 00:51 UTC Great pictures, hope you enjoyed your trip there as much as I did. Luisa | Jeannette1 Wed May 12, 2004 21:19 UTC It sounds like a beautiful city. Glad to hear it's not just Americans who are noisy :-) Jeannette |
