Charlotte is a bankers town. It is the second largest banking center in the US (second only to NYC). Although the area has much to see and Charlotte has great location (only 2 hrs from the mountains and 3 from the beach), there is not much in the way for tourist attractions in Charlotte. It's a great place to live, but not necessarily to visit. The city has been critisized for bulldozing its past. While this is true, I believe the city now realizes this and is attempting to embrace what is left as well as begining to embrace more cultural aspirations. Both bode well for the city becoming a better place to live and visit. Just as a disclaimer, while I have plenty of photos of Charlotte, none happen to be on my computer right now, so I'll generally be using pics from the web.
