Nuty's Second Trip to Maastricht - Maastricht

Been to this city twice in a sort time last year (2000).

I ended up here the first time when I went for a walking trip from Valkenburg to Maastricht with a girlfriend. It was a really sunny day and we went from Valkenburg (train station) to Gulpen a village to the south (about 8km). The country side around Maastricht and in the most parts of the province Limburg is a but hilly. Don't worry no real mountains...

But from Gulpen we took the bus to Maastricht and walked around the city for a while...
The hiking trip is about 36km in total from Valkenburg to Maastricht, it's a two day trip.

The picture is from a bridge you have to cross when you want to go to downtown Maastricht from the trainstation. When you come out of the trainstation just keep walking straigth ahead you will end up at the river and you just have to cross this bridge.

Here you can find some really nice place to just sit and have a drink, under a tree or in the sun.
