On a crumbling yellow wall in Prague's Old Town, alongside posters promoting heavy metal bands and techno parties, there's some graffiti which reads: CAPITALISM = VELVET OCCUPATION ! While warning against the seductive onslaught of consumerism, this ironic wall-scrawl also calls attention to a somber truth : that sometimes in order to gain something we must give something up. |
