Sao Paulo is the second or third hugest city on earth. I thought New York was overwhelming! It's nothing in comparison. "Sampa" (the local nickname) consists of huge gray cement skyscrapers jammed closely together with bursts of colorful garish street signs and millions upon millions of the most beautiful people I've ever met. Most people don't visit Sao Paulo because it isn't as pretty or famous as Rio (it's useless visiting "historical" buildings, as they're squished between thousands of gigantic communist-style gray concrete buildings) ... but the clubs and culture here were incredible. Yeah, Rio fits the more romantic notion of "brasil" but Sao Paulo is also true Brasilian culture, it just takes effort to enjoy it. There are so many immigrants from all corners of the earth here and the chaos of the metropolis is like the backddrop to some kind of fantastic movie (a lot of people compare Sampa to NYC... but I found Sampa cooler!) I met some incredible artists there who you should check out: http: //www.tom-b.com http://www.spectrogirl.com http://www.urru.net |

Sininen Fri Feb 2, 2007 16:07 UTC Hello Miromi! A different São Paulo page...I like it. SP is not one of my favourite cities, but it has its charm...in a way. Happy birthday from Finland! | Elizabetha Sat Sep 16, 2006 07:42 UTC She is La Pomba Gira, of Umbanda religion. Sometimes called "sacred whore", patron diety of sex workers, not a "she devil" as you call her. | blaird Tue Jun 8, 2004 21:42 UTC how did you get stuck in a revolving door? Capoeira is amazing, and I don't get the Jui Jitsu thing either, although my friend is amazing at it. | LucyInTheSky Mon Mar 22, 2004 20:18 UTC Great SP page, check out mine ! |
