If you'll be the unfortunate guy to be robber by a child in Brazil,I know,the feeling is like it's the end of fun and you'll feel probably very very upset!I agree! But,if for a second,you stop to think that a very huge part of these street children never had a single article from UNICEF'S CHILDREN RIGHTS CONVENTION respected,maybe,not to justify,but maybe,you'll understand why! ARTICLE 1:THE RIGHT TO AN IDENTITY Each children have the right to a name and nacionality,to know his or her parents and be cared for them.The government has an obligation to protect the child's identity,name,nacionality and family ties.

2.THE RIGHT TO A FAMILY The government has to respect the rights and responsabilities of parents to provide proper guidance for their children in diferent ages. The child has the rights to live with his or her parents unless this is not in the child's best interests.The child has the right to maintain contact with both parents if separated from one or both. Children and their parents have the right to leave any country or enter their own country anytime to be reunited. Parents both have the responsability for raising the child,and the government shall suport this. Children without a family must be given special protection. Where adoption is aloud,it shall be caried out in the best interests of the chid.

3.THE RIGHTS TO EXPRESS YOURSELF AND HAVE ACCESS TO INFORMATION Children have the rights to express themselves freely,and have their opinion listened to in matters that affect them. Children have the right to express their views, obtain information,and make ideas and information known. Children have the right to freedom of thought,conscience and religion,with the guidance of their parents. Children have the right to protection from interference of their privacy,family,home and correspondence. Children shall have access to information from national and international sources. These materials should be beneficial and those that are harmfull to children should be discouraged.

4.THE RIGHT TO A SAFE AND HEALTHY LIFE Every child has the right to life,and the government must do everything possible to make sure that children survive and develop. Children have the right to the best possible level of health and to access to health and medical services. Children have the right of a decent level of life. Children have the right to protection from the use of drugs,and for being involved in their production and distribution.

5.THE RIGHT FOR SPECIAL PROTECTION IN TIME OF WAR Children who are refugees,or seeking refugee status,are entitled to special protection. Children under the age of 15 shall not take part in armed conflicts. Children who are affected by armed conflitcs are entitled to special protection and care. Children who had experienced armed conflicts,torture,neglect or exploitation shall receive special treatment to help them recover. (I know you'll probably say.."hey,but in Brazil there's no war!!"..wrong-to leave in the streets here is an endless war,the bullets are everywhere,specially at the "favelas",when policemen go to find one single drug dealer,many can die during the blitz!!!!)

6.THE RIGHT TO AN EDUCATION Children have the right to education!Primary education should be free and all the children should be required to attend. Secondary education should be accesible to every child. Education should develop the child's personality,talents,mental and physical abilities. Children should learn to respect their own culture and that of the others.

9.THE RIGHT TO PROTECTION AGAINST ABUSE The government must do everyhting possible to prevent the kidnapping or holding of children abroad by a parent of other person. Children shall be protected from abuse and neglect. Governments shall provide programmes for the prevetion of abuse and treatment of those who had been abused. Children shall be protected from sexual abuse,including prostitution and involvement in pornography. The government shall take appropiate measures to prevent the sale,trafficking and abduction of children.
