Maybe yes,I'm incline to think so!
As a "CARIUCHA" a mix of Gauchos and Cariocas,and a Brazilian first of all,everytime my flight lands in Rio,I pray for a clear sky day that I can see this beautiful sketch from the air!
Every tourist I have the oportunity to hear,told me that when he saw Rio from the airplane,he got breathless!
The mountains forming bays everywhere,the delicate cuts of landscapes,the dramatic green hills..I'm suspicious for trying to be a storyteller about Rio,as I won't be neutral,but I'm sure everyone would feel the same!
Than,once in the airport passport control,you will start to hear protuguese everywhere,the atmosphere of being here will be in the air.
Fast,your eyes will catch the first smilles of a warm welcome!
Maybe it'll be raining,not really the sunny day you dreamed all way to here,probably in one of the long and endless transatlantic flights,but,this tropical hot rain is one of the symbols of our welcome,nowhere else the rain smells the same as here!
And,if you didn't see the landscapes from the plane(night landing,rainy day,too cloudy,etc..),don't worry: Sugar Loaf,Corcovado,Tijuca's park(see my page to understand why)will proide you millions of oportunities to see diferent views of the bay.
For those who the budget for hotels can afford taking a room in the highest floor,seaview,it will be in front of your eyes everyday!
