Hot weather, great food, low prices - Thailand is a great place to visit! I've been to Thailand 12 times now - spending a lot of time in the North-East (Isaan) in particular, and enjoyed almost every minute! I'm pretty familiar with Bangkok, too (see my separate page) and also Ko Samui, plus I've made shorter visits to Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai, and Pattaya.

This picture, by the way, was taken on the lovely island of Ko Samui, on Chaweng beach.

As well as VT, there's quite a lot of useful information about Thailand on the web. Try the excellent Thailand Guidebook site or the official Tourism Thailand site. The pages at Mahidol University also has useful background information about the culture and economy, while thaivisa.com has pretty much all the information you might want about visa requirements.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Hot weather, yummy food and superb beaches...
Cons:Watch out for the con artists!

Next time u are in this part of the world, cross the border & head for Luang Prabang. Laos is a truly pleasant country to visit. Just returned from a trip there.
