Bruges (as the Brits & French know it, but don't call it that to the locals!) is extremely attractive & well worth a visit. While you're there, remember that the locals speak Flemish (similar to Dutch) and you may have more luck speaking English than French.

I love the historical buildings - so much character in them - the chocolates are far to sweet for my taste but I do love the belgian pastries :o)
