Phuket is the epicentre of Thai tourism and so it was with some trepidation I booked a trip there. My wife Ning didn't want anywhere too quiet, so we headed for Patong. Fortunately it wasn't quite as bad as I'd heard, in fact it turned out to be a very pleasant, relaxing trip... One major plus point of the trip was that I'm a bit of a James Bond fan, and I finally got to visit the island in the film 'The Man With the Golden Gun' (now locally known as James Bond Island). The limestone rocks and James Bond Island are indeed a good reason to visit Phuket, although it is very touristy nowadays. Still, I hope to be there again next year and wonder how much has changed in the last 10 years :-) | Wann Sun Sep 11, 2005 12:55 UTC
