Between the montain and the sea! If you visit Sintra, .there is so much to see to see and do. ..the landsape, the monuments, the beaches around the city. Come with me in this virtual voyage and let me show you to what this town which is classified as a cultural landscape of the Wrold by Unesco, has to offer! |
A little of history. Poetically described by Lord Byron as "this glorious Eden" Sintra is surronded be greenery and is rich in different species of vegetation. A romantic town with a turn-of century atmosphere, it's luxurious vegeatition hides numerous contry estates and houses that blend perfectly into the landscape. It was the summer residence of portuguese kings as of th end of the 16 th C and it was here that King Ferdinand of Saxe-Coburg built a revivalist palace (in the style of the castles of his cousin Ludwing II of Bavaria).Later it became a select tourism destination. |
