make a boat trip to the little island of <font color=blue size=+1>SYMI</font> (every morning a ferry is leaving from the harbor of Mandraki in Rhodos).
This island is famous for its sponge and sponge divers. Symi has a very typical atmosphere and it is a beautiful place to see.

Directions: The island is located at the north of Rhodos and close to the coast of Turkey.

When reaching the top, you get a beautiful view over the village of Lindos, the mountains and the sea.

Hire a little car and drive...

Hire a little car and drive around the island, away from the tourism. You get to see the mountains and meet the Greek people; who are very friendly.
You see the 'real' Greece. Picture: a typical little Greek house in the middle of nowhere, where you can still see people living without worrying, without stress. On a warm afternoon, you can see some old men playing cards in the shadow of a big tree.

visit the <font color=blue size=+1>the monastery of Panormitis</font> at the island of Symi.
The church of this monastery contains an ikon of the Archangel Michael.

Directions: We made a guided boat trip to the island and the first stop was at the monastery. After visiting this, we took the boat again for more than an hour to the other side of Symi.
