Banking, Beer, and Bratwurst While Frankfurt is the Banking Capital of Europe, there is still a typical German Old Town, complete with Rathaus and Church. The Rathaus is on one unparrallel side of a town square, complete with fountain, outdoor beergardens... typical Germany. The difference here is that the sky behind the square is filled with skyscrapers instead of rainclouds. Grab a beer and a brat, and strike up a conversation. Most people will speak English, but you should learn German! |
Museum Alley Head over the Main river to Museum alley, a group of old mansions along the riverside that have been converted into an impressive group of museums. I managed to get into the architecture museum, because it was free on Tuesdays. |

Skyscrapers If you are dressed sort of nicely, head for the towers of 'Mainhattan.' The two towers of Deutschebank, Debit and Credit are here, as well as the Main Tower. For a few Euro you can take an elevator to the top of this 50-story building to take pictures of the city from on high. |
