| | Roman Holiday Well, okay, so its the eternal city, and I'm Roman Catholic. My fiance' had decreed that Italy was meant for the honeymoon, so we had avoided the boot until our relationship was official. So in true VT fashion, we got tips and tricks, emailed a few locals, and were on our way. |
The Vatican Unfortunately, the Pope (or Papa) was unable to have a visit during our stay due to his rigorous schedule. A true Roman Catholic, I still had to see St. Peters. We tried to shake off that myth of the lazy American by saving 1 stinking Euro, avoiding the elevator, and taking the slanted steps to the top. Not a bad view. | | |
| | The Forum Chances are you're going to do a lot of walking in Rome. Wear nice shoes. Okay, wear comfortable shoes that look nice. Either way, walking aournd the Forum at night is a great opportunity to avoid the junk peddlers and see what 2000 year old buildings look with 500 watt bulbs fixated on them. |
