From a European's view, New Zealand is the most remote country to visit. And after jetting the half globe, the traveller's weary eyes seems to see almost the same scenery as they might see in Europe: Lush meadows, scattered with sheep like in Ireland, mighty fiords and cliffs like in Norway, mediterranean flair like in Nice, cosmopolitan cities like London, beaches like in Spain or Portugal and spectacular glaciers like in Iceland. Yet it appears similar - believe me, it isn't. What makes New Zealand so special is, that its natural beauties are so compact and close together and nevertheless different as anywhere else. We just had four weeks to explore the two islands, which definitively was too short, and so, with a heavy heart, we had to skip some parts.
