Long Island extends, from West to East, for about 125 miles. At the western end are two New York City boroughs, Brooklyn (population: 2,465,326, area: 96.9 sq. miles) and Queens (population: 2,229,379, area: 178.3 sq. miles.) As you proceed east you reach the county of Nassau ( population: 1.3 million, area: 287 sq. miles) and then the sounty of Suffolk (population: 1.4 million. area: 911 sq. miles.)

 Very interesting. Never knew about Old Bethpage. Think I'd better investigate further. Sagamore Hill would be a good stop too. Thanks for the info.
