General Tips: Topkapi Museum
  • Tip Rating:
  • Favorite Thing: In Istanbul, you must visit the Topkapi museum. Its Treasury is famous for its fabulous jewels, but the collection also contains fine porcelain, armor, books, clocks, silver and gold tableware and pictures. Try to catch a tour of the harem there.

  • Favorite Thing: When in Istanbul, be sure to visit the Blue Mosque. The architecture is stunning. It is still used for daily prayers as it has been since it was built in 1603. Use the tourist door to get in. Leave your shoes. If you are wearing shorts, put on the wraparound skirt they provide.
