Miami has a way of naming its streets after people famous in its history:
Brickell Avenue- William Brickell opened a trading post and post office in 1871.
Julia Tuttle Causeway- She was the second landowner in Miami, purchasing 640 acres on the north bank of the Miami River.
Flagler Street- Henry Flagler, along with John D. Rockefeller, created a vast empire and began to develop the East coast of Florida. Flagler built the railroad here and extended it to Miami at the urgin of Julia Tuttle.
Collins Avenue- In 1910, he and Carl Fisher purchased a Mangrove swamp which they turned into Miami Beach
- Pros:This is the seat of culture in Dade County
