Yale was founded in 1701 in Killingworth as the Collegiate School. It moved to New Haven in 1716 and was renamed Yale in 1718.
The Medical School was established in 1810.
The Divinity School was established in 1822. The Law School was established in 1843. theGraduate School of Arts and Sciences was established in 1847. the School of Fine Arts was established in 1869. The School of Music was established in 1894.
After Yale became a University in 1887, the following schools were added:
School of Forestry and Environmental Studies (1900)
School of Nursing (1923)
School of Drama (1955)
School of Architecture (1972)
School of Management (1974)
There are many notable things to see on campus in addition to the Peabody Museum.
