Los Angeles is the second most populous city in the US after New York. It is located on the Pacific Ocean and is the seat of Los Angeles County. It is a major industrial, commercial and financial center. Far from being a real city, in my opinion, Los Angeles is a conglomeration of all sorts of things. The main industry is films, of course. Without the movies it would be nothing. The climate is great, except for the SMOG. In fact, there is a joke going around:

Its main attractions are the Walk of Fame with the handprints and footprints of the "stars." The "walk of fame" has five acres of bronze stars and lines both sides of Hollywood Boulevard from Gower to La Brea and both sides of Vine Street from Yucca to Sunset.

The phony tours of stars' homes attract millions of tourists regularly.

Los Angeles grew from a farming settlement established by the Spanish in 1781, named El Pueblo Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles de Porciúncula. It wasn't until the 29th century that the warm climate and economic opportunities drew newcomers from across the country.

The rapid growth created problems such as air pollution and traffic congestion. There is a rich mix of cultures with racial and economic inequities.

Los Angeles, nevertheless, especially due to its role in providing much of the country's entertainment, is a fountain of trends and ideas for the nation and the entire world.
