Hobart has many colonial buildings. Among the most important are Parliament House (1840) which was formerly the Customs House, the Town Hall, the State Government Offices in Franklin Square, and Government House on the Queen's Domain. The Theatre Royal, built in 1837, is Australia's oldest theater. Anglesea Barracks, built in 1814, is the oldest military establishment in the country still occupied by the army. |
