Zhaoxing is a small mountain village that is friendly and peaceful. It's primary inhabitants are the minority Dong people. While there isn't a great amount to do in the village itself, it's a nice place to stay for a few days and walk around, as well as a good place to use as a base for hikes to other nearby villages.
As important here as anywhere, the kids retain the spirit of the New Year.
Some of the paddies outside of town were flooded with a reddish layer of something over them... not sure what it is, exactly.
