Ganlanba (Menghan) is a small town on the Mekong (Lancang) River in southern Yunnan. While it isn't a massive tourist destination, there are a few temples and of course, the Mekong itself. The Mekong River isn't the Mississippi, the Yangtze or the Nile, but it is, of course, prime tributary to the famed Mekong Delta. Here in China, the river's ordinary appearance isn't a crowd-pleaser, but it's sort of like seeing the Limpopo in Africa- something interesting to have seen, but nothing to write home about. |
