Small town/Minorities

Aside from some good food and a banyan tree not at all shaped like an elephant (what are they smoking) Menglan has little, if nothing, to do. It is, however, a center for local minorities, namely the Hani, the Lahu, and the Floral-Belt Dai. There are some minority-based things to do here, though they seem, from my experience, to be centered around you paying a lot of money. (See the Jinuo Things To Do tip)

Tea

Tea growing on the terraces is a common sight. Tea is frequently taken in a ceremonial fashion, though that practice is rapidly being lost to Coke and bottled (uber-sweet) teas. Coffee seems slower to catch on.

And of course, modern China invading the serenity...

Can we say... "Tea Mobile"? (You Americans should get that)
