Off The Beaten Path: There are many bike trails...
  • Tip Rating:
  • There are many bike trails around COS. One is in Palmer Park, but it's more offroad. The others, like Monument Creek Trail as smooth gravel trails that extend for quite a ways. The T-Gap Trail (Templeton Gap Trail) extends north-south, basically parallel to the Monument Creek Trail, but is paved for much of the way. I used part of that trail to bike to work every day in the Spring of 2001.

Off The Beaten Path: There is a little restaurant...
  • Tip Rating:
  • There is a little restaurant on Weber, right before it crosses (going north) Jackson, then dead-ends. It is called the 'Diner' and has good BBQ and other sandwiches, not to mention ice-cream!!!!! Weber is just west of Nevada Ave. There is a Safeway and a bunch of other stores in the Bon Center (which is the back drop for the Diner. Not beautiful, but good enough. Just for locational reasons: East to West.

Off The Beaten Path: I don't really know what to...
  • Tip Rating:
  • I don't really know what to say about this place, because there really isn't anything to do, but Colorado College campus. Email me if you want to visit and I'll show you around! It's not a bad campus, despite the glass and urban/residential setting. Some of the architecture and buildings are neat. It's not a bad school either, especially if you are liberal. I tend more towards conservative, thus being disliked by many. Oh well. Personally, if you happen to be thinking of sending a kid here, don't. If you want to know why, email me. It's too detailed for this page. But, come visit if you like!

    This is my room!!!

Off The Beaten Path: I admit that this is a bit off...
  • Tip Rating:
  • I admit that this is a bit off travel, but I know that many people are interested in music. For rentals and sales or questions, go to Rice Music at 410 South 8th Street (80905) 719.634.3717; or 4614 Austin Bluff's Parkway (80918) 719.260.6177.

I am trying to fill in all the areas of this city, and music is important to many people. So, if you're on a road trip, stop by Rice Music. 1.800.444.RICE. It's a great place for music lovers to visit!

Off The Beaten Path: One of the best hikes I've had...
  • Tip Rating:
  • One of the best hikes I've had was in North Cheyenne Canyon. Granted it was off the beaten path, literally, but alert people like myself can do that withour risking much damage to the surrounding area. It was really cool. Also, I've hiked and biked around the Garden of the Gods area which is cool. There are lots of tourists by the rocks, but if you get away some, it gets better, and prettier.

    Off The Beaten Path: Ballooning
  • Tip Rating:
  • Take a balloon flight around the city! For about $100 take a one hour ride. Or get married in the air!

John, the Three Thieves Restaurant is the best steakhouse in town IMHO. Check it out the next time you're there. And in Denver, check out Casa Bonita.
