Stirling--a wonderful day & a chilling night

Please take these tips for what they're worth--I haven't been to Stirling for 1-1/2 years and then only for a day, but my tips will be based on the observations I made in my journal.

Stirling was a daytrip for me, from Edinburgh. I spent the day seeing all the sites, then decided to stay on for "Romeo and Juliet" which was playing at the castle. What I was thinking I don't know, but even though I was in Scotland, I was unprepared for rain that day. I sat in my fleece for the entire first half of the play on the grass while it POURED buckets on me.

No one ever accused the Scottish of being scared of rain. Everyone just sat in the rain and watched. The actors continued through the tempest. (I think that's the first time I've ever used that word--probably incorrectly, too.) Thankfully, they moved us into the main hall for the second half. Unfortunately I was already an ice cube, and Scottish castles aren't exactly heated.

hey Jen. I lived here for nearly 7 years (was a student at the university). You have captured some of the essence of this town... which I adore.

Nice pics of Stirling, I love it there. Altho I don't think I would have loved getting soaked for the sake of Shakespeare!!!
