The unofficial state motto, laissez les bons temps rouler (let the good times roll), pretty much says it all for most people - and let there be no mistake, New Orleans rolls plenty. Called by some 'The City That Care Forgot,' New Orleans has a well-earned reputation for excess and debauchery. Though this is certainly a big draw, so is its (ahem) colorful history and unique cultural gumbo of African, Indian, Cajun and Creole influences.
