There's nothing like a fountain and a magnum of French Champagne to make you right again.

Sweet San Gimingnano

Piazza del Duomo

Piazza del Duomo
I was fortunate to find a fabulous apartment through Tuscany.net right in the heart of the town, just off this square. The wonderful thing about San Gimignano is it is small but allows for wandering (mostly uphill) and exploring. You never know what you'll find around the corner but most likely it is an panarama like you've never seen before.

The townsfolk are very friendly and every night there are old men sitting in the square deep in conversation and flirting with the ladies that walk by.

On the road to Montapulciano

I was lucky to have a wonderful host, Fabio, who drove me around to visit places not easily accessed by public transportation. While I was there I saw Volterra, Montalcino, Monteriggioni, Val D'Elsa, Montapulciano and Pienza.

Chianti Bottles

The region is famous for its wine: Chianti and Brunello being its most well-known.
