You don't have to buy your return ticket few days prior to your departure. And you don;t need to buy your ticket from travel agency, because it will cause you JD2 more.

At Least Do This: Just see how locals wait in line and follow them...
Alternative: By the time you leave, you just go to the port, buy yourself a return ticket which cost US35 and then go through the immigration check. Or if you want to take first class, pay US40 more. No need to worry if there are more availabilties, if there aren't, they will upgrade you to first class.
And it's cheaper to buy a return ticket here in Aqaba than in Nuweiba.
