Crystal Beach is one of a string of tiny communities along Highway 87 as it runs from the ferry landing in Port Bolivar to where the road is washed out at the turn to High Island.

Beach houses abound and rental rates are not too high.

Unfortunately, the beach is often littered wth trash - I mean it's everywhere. Ever since Galveston banned alcohol on its beaches all the kids looking to party head over to the pennisula on the weekends to party on the beach. They often spend the night. The vast majority of them leave their trash (Bud Light in bottles, Red Bull, used to mix with cheap vodka in plastic jugs, and for the economy-minded, Busch 16 oz. cans) behind, on the beach, despite the presence of trash cans about every 75 yards.

So, if you do come, clean up after yourselves.
