A brief stop on a month-long Scandanavian trip, we did not really get to know the country well. Staying in Copenhagen, we arrived by plane from Norway and spent our brief time doing walkings tours.
The parks and shopping streets were great. With a small child, checking out the numerous toy stores (home of leggos!) was a good move. The main walking street in the town center has some good bookstores. Of course, buying a Hans Christian Anderson book was essential!
We loved the bicycle borrowing system, paying a small fee for the use of a shiny red bike and getting your money back upon return to the locking stand. Why don't we do that more often in the U.S.???
Finally, the people were warm and -- as with most of the Scnadanavian countries -- spoke English impeccably.
Highly recommended! We'd love to spend more time there.
