London is the capital of England and lies on the River Thames in south east England. programmes in Middle Ages.It is one of the most popular places for many foreign visitors. There is so much to see and do (more than many other capital cities I have visited in Europe). You can pass time visiting many of the free museums and galleries if you are operating on a tight budget. OK, so the museums are free but it seems that our churches feel they have to charge you to visit them - St Paul's and Westminster both want about £6 from you. Given the choice I would recommend the museums and then head to other cities where churches only ask for a donation!
It is much more expensive to eat here than the rest of the country - even in chain stores such as Boots! One of the most reasonable places to eat is in a pub if you want traditional English fayre or head to Chinatown if you have more exotic tatstes. |
