This is labelled one of the most romantic cities in the world although I have yet to make use of it as a destination for that purpose!
My most recent trip was to celebrate my thirtieth birthday. I just wanted to escape the country (nothing new for me!). I was accompanied by my friend of many years, Ruth. It was her first trip to the city and found it a very fascinating place too. We just booked a coach trip (a rare experience for me – but we needed something cheap!). Just days after we returned from the city disaster struck in the Place D'Alma for the late Princess Diana.
The city impressed me yet again with its ability to make me walk for miles and not think about the effect that it was having on my feet. Funny how it isn't until you return to the hotel that it hits you. My feet have never been the same since. |

vinc_bilb Thu Jul 3, 2008 17:01 UTC Hello, agreed: Mouling rouge and ... are really tourist trap! As a local, I don't understand the attractiveness of such places. C'est la vie :) | Gypsystravels Thu Nov 6, 2003 21:24 UTC Ah...Paris!! My must fave city in Europe...I gotta make it back soon. Will be passing by this December though!! | barryg23 Mon Jan 13, 2003 20:12 UTC very useful, accurate tips. I agree about getting those cheap French books and definitely about trying to see too much on foot! | John195123 Wed Jun 5, 2002 22:59 UTC Great page! |
