In the summer of 1994 when I was 16 years old, my mum and I flew to New York. For the first few days we stayed with relatives in Connecticut -then using Greyhound buses, we travelled up from New York, To Toronto Canada, then onto Boston before going back to New York.It was the best holiday of my life and I liked it because we saw a bit of the real America and Canada- not just the tourist side so many people see if they go to places like Florida. We had a few day trips into New York City and I loved it! It was a summer heatwave at the time and I can still remember the heat in the streets then going on the boat trip to the statue of liberty which was a really refreshing ride. We did also take a lift up to the top of the World Trade Center which feels very eery now when I look back upon it and what has tragically happened since then. |
