"Linee's new Venice Page" a Venice Travel Page by Linee

First time I went to Venice I was by myself. I was a little bit afraid to leave my friend in Florence and go alone, but then I thought "How can I come to Italy and not go to Venice?". So I took a night+day trip. I know that only one day is just not enough but let's say I did see many things.
At my arrival I had to take a boat from the train station till the hostel and I started talking to this navy guy that was born in Venice and so far was the first person I run into that spoke English. He saw me holding a map and said that to really get to know Venice "You need to get lost, just go to Piaza San Marco and start walking from there".
I only saw the truth on his words when on the following day I did lose my map by accident! So, instead of looking for a new one, I decided to take his advice.
It was exciting not really knowing where all those small bridges and narrow aisles would take me. I saw so many things, I even entered in one of the main Art Gallery.
When I was there it was rainning and we had to walk on wood plataforms set on the Piaza San Marco, what I thought it was an interesting experience.
