Taos lies about 110 km north east of Santa Fe. The town was the most northern outpost of the Spanish territory and was founded in 1615.
Taos Pueblo is about 5 km north of the town. It has been continuously inhabited since about the year 1000 a.d., about 150 people still live inside. |
