In a unique transitional area, where the lower Colorado desert meets the high Mojave northeast of Palm Springs, Joshua Tree National Park protects a vast area of grotesquely gnarled and ragged trees as well as a highly sensitive cactus population. All around lie great heaps of boulders, their edges rounded and smoothed by flash floods and winds.
I recommend that you enlarge the pictures to "full size" in order to enjoy the details. |
