The heart of the Kootenays...

Well known by snowboarders, hikers and hippies, Nelson is a treat to visit. An easy-going mountain town on a picturesque site at the downstream end of Kootenay Lake, people have been falling in love with Nelson since it was founded in the 19th Century. Nelson is easily one of the highlights of British Columbia. Its relative isolation has, ironically perhaps, given Nelson a more cosmopolitan feel than its neighbours.

My husband and I go to Nelson every summer at the beginning of July for the Toad Rock Motorcycle Rally. The Redfish Grill is the spot that we look forward to going to because of the food and the servers. Our favorite is Jenni!! See you next year Jenni!!

I enjoyed my trip to the Kootnays on Easter weekend, but was choked to find that Kaslo isn't in VT's data base. Did the circle tour to Sandon, New Denver and Silver City...well worth the trip.
