    • Legal Sea Foods - This half-century old restaurant chain is one of my personal favorites. It's sooo good that it was named in 1979 as 'Best Seafood Restaurant' by Boston Globe reader's poll; it's sooo good that their chowder was served in 1981 at the Presidential Inauguration; it's sooo good that a mobile 'Chowda Van' traveled to Superbowl XXXI to serve thousands of fans. What's best of all is that they've expanded to Long Island, New York, Washington DC, Maryland, New Jersey, Florida. There's even one at the Boston Longan Airport.

    Favorite Dish: New England Chowder, of course!

    • Bull and Finch this Boston institution served as the inspiration for the hit sitcom 'Cheers'. Great basic food, tons of memorabilia, and always a crowd. This fun spot is located across from the Public Garden at 84 Beacon St.
