Nestled in the Allegheny Mountains of Virginia you'll find the Homestead, a playground for the entire family, couples, or an individual in search of a little solitude. This complex has it all. Located near Hot Springs, VA, this grande dame was constructed 10 years before the Revolutionary War and has been hostess to many of our forefathers. She boasts 3 golf courses, the first of which claimes the oldest hole in the U.S, the most recent designed by Robert Trent Jones. During World War II, the Homestead served as a detention center for Japanese citizens - although detained, hotel staff was instructed to treat them as good as, if not better than paying clients. Not only is this a complete spa and recreation site, it is home to Executive Chef Albert Schnarwyler. |
