Welcome to my home page. First, let me say HELLO! to all my VT friends out there - I've been away for some time but I am returning to update and add some interesting new places. For those of you I've not yet had the pleasure of meeting, I am wife, mother, teacher, friend. My husband and I love to travel and we have been blessed with many opportunities to do so. Every trip I make brings me home a different person & I'm glad about that. Most recently my husband and I visited the Dordogne region of France following in the footsteps of Michael Crichton's characters in his bestseller novel TIMELINE. Visit my pages, learn from my experiences & please don't hesitate to correct any of my mistakes. Please continue here to learn about something dear to my heart. Bon Voyage et A Bientot! Arkansas is the home of Heifer Project International. Based in Perryville, AR., this organization raises livestock to help feed millions of families in impoverished areas by giving them, not money, not a loaf of bread, but a means of making a living now and in the future. You see, Heifer Project gives an animal (bees, plants, etc) to a needy family with the agreement that the first offspring will then in turn be given to another family in need. The objective is to pass on a means of support. Please visit their web site for more information. I have long supported them and feel personally that this is one of the most worthwhile organizations of its kind in existence. I'm proud to report that our French Club at school last year earned $500 that was donated to this group to be used in a French-speaking country. Here is a sample of what a few dollars, pesos, francs, marcs, lira, pounds, etc. can do for someone like the little boy on Slydevil's page: $250 will buy a water buffalo, $120 will buy a goat, a sheep or a pig, $60 will buy tree seedlings or a trio of rabbits, $30 will buy honeybees, and anything at all will help. Thanks for giving heed to one of my causes, it's a small world after all -
P.S. Thanks, Slydevil for pricking my conscience |
