"Lillestrøm" Lillestrøm by Maria_75

Lillestrøm might not be one of the first places you put on your list when you plan a travel to Norway. In fact I dont think it will be on any travellers list... ;)

But this is where I spend most of my time when I am in Norway these days. Kind of ironic actually. I was born and raised in Oslo, and have lived there my whole life. But last year I sold my house and moved to Spain. Everytime I visit Norway now I am staying in the house of my parents in Lillestrøm.

Why is that ironic? Lillestrøm is a neighbor city of Oslo, and like most neighbors they have their little battles. Especially in football. If you come from Oslo and support Norways best footballteam Vålenga, you hate Lillestrøm. Like I do. And now I live here...

But its actually a very nice, little city. Everything is within walking distance. We live in a two-storey wooden house with a big garden, in a very quiet area. But only 2 minutes walk from the city center. The express train only takes 10 minutes in to Oslo, and they run very frequent.

All in all, a very nice place! Except for the fact that it is Lillestrøm... ;)
